Trying to flash an old K610 to W660 firmware just for the fun of it, following this very detailed and useful guide.
EDIT: Seems I can't use the url tag? Well here's the link to the guide then.
http://www.myforum.a site/showthread.php?t=38528
I've done step 1, 2 and 3 with success. The phone now boots, and everything is as described; everything works except the walkman. But I'm stuck at step 4.
XS++ has no problem flashing the MAIN firmware, but when trying to flash the exact same file with SETool2Lite, I get the "embedded flashloader not responds !" error.
So I've searched a lot on Google of course, and the general reply people get is to
- try another cable,
- install the latest USB driver (from SETool2Lite),
- try another USB port on your PC,
- try another firmware file,
Since I've tried all of the above now without any change in the result, I'm posting here.
In step 4 the main firmware is flashed again (using SETool2Lite), bypassing DB2020 security. This is the step that fails. It never gets to the vkp script.
The phone is of course 100% charged, and I do of course hold the C button before inserting the cable.
Any ideas?

Can I see the log from SETool2lite please. Have you tried doing the bypass with JDFlasher?

Didn't try with JDFlasher yet no. It's been a long time since I tried FAR Manager. (Put some menu-icons on my W800 long time ago).
I just tried again here at work, with another cable and obviously another computer. Still the same. Here's the log.

Hmm odd. Looks as though the bypass was successful but stops before patching the qapatch. I'd try with JDFlasher.

I just tried with JDFlasher.
Gives me this error, regardless of choosing ofs or oflash.

Wrong script! You are DB2020, not DB2012!!
Select DB2020 script and select BFlash.

Ah, missed that.
The new error is something along the line of "full plugin installation required", when I enter bflash.
So searched briefly for another download of the plugin, but it seems to be just a folder to be copied into the plugin folder, so not sure what full plugin installation means. |

The download works fine from home.
And JDFlasher ran through all 3 unplugs/reconnect. Last thing that pops up is the "Remember to flash MAIN" message. Then it fails:
SetDirectory(setdir(setmode(doscript(qhldr(gethello(IOusb:getblock(time exceed))))))) |

Hmm...
Here's a guide. Apologies for the absence of screenshots.

Looks like I'm doing what the tutorial says.
I wonder if it matters that I used DaVinci Client earlier to change color to brown. I forget why I did it, probably because I thought it was needed to apply some patches.
Later I changed color back again to red (supercid), also using DaVinci Client. Could this be the reason for the problems?
Can I do anything else with DaVinci? I'm not afraid to spend some money on it. |
