Today EPOCWARE releases PC File Manager for Sony Ericsson P800. It gives you a possibility to manage files on your phone from your PC.
With PC File Manager installed on your PC you can also copy files between your phone and the drives and folders on your PC.
In fact, you can use PC File Manager to perform most of the same tasks with the files on your phone as you can with the files on the PC. Use the normal Windows techniques (drag and drop, right-clicking, etc.) to work with the files on your phone.
You can find detailed information and download FREE trial version of PC File Manager for Sony Ericsson P800 here:

What´s the difference from what you already can do with P800 connected to a PC via sync-cable??
I mean, you can already browse, copy, drag-n-drop etc....?? |

The target-users for that software are mainly Nokia Series60 users. P800 is only an add-on, I guess. And really a useless one at that, too... See my-symbian.com for more. |

It might be useful if it's more stable that the Windows Explorer integraton that comes with the P800 PC software. I don't know everyone elses experiences, but I have had explorer.exe crash more than once when using the P800 Explorer. The only really clean way back from this is to log off of windows and log back on again or at worst re-boot.
I wish they had made the P800 explorer a stand-alone application instead of trying to integrate with Windows Explorer. Based on experiences with software where I work, I personally that this kind of integration is a bad idea. Whenever Microsoft make any changes to explorer.exe in hotfixes or services packs then the third party integration is often screwed and no longer works, or crashes explorer. Plus there is inconsistant behaviour between different versions of Windows when you use this kind of integration. All in all I think its a bad idea.
If the PC File Manager is a stand-alone app and not an integration with Windows Explorer then I might give it a look.

This software allows you do browse the areas outside of documents. Quite a big difference. Just try it. |

One other thing I just thought of...
The Phone Connection Link icon that sits in the system tray waiting for the P800 to show up on USB or infrared or whatever you have configured. I have I problem with this on my laptop if I leave the infrared port selected in the properties. My laptop won't suspend and just hangs when I try. I have to remember to turn off infrared in the properties before suspending. This is pain! Other IR software I have does not cause any problems.
Has anyone else seen this? If not then take this as a warning and be careful using infrared.
