Who cares ? After disastrous experience with X2 I personally wouldn't dare to buy another SE device ever again. (Besides, in our company - there is official order issued which basically says that any emploee caught to carry SE gadget will be fired on sight, no question asked) If somebody wants/likes WP7 - there are plenty of choices on the market from other OEM's. SE is blacklisted here after I sold mine to the son of my Boss (actually I was really happy that he bought it, despite on half price...) |

Unlikely that there'll be an WP7 phone. I can see their point about differentiation but with Windows Phone seemingly taking off quite well, who knows how well their judgement really is in not jumping in on it early.

Woah! Fired on the spot sounds a bit drastic to me, not even a verbal warning.

They make a mistake.
WP7 is very good OS, in many ways better than Android.
I have to admit - SE makes lately only BAD choices.

Sony Ericsson hasn't recently been known for outstanding and high-end hardware.
How would they advertise the phone's superiority over other WP7 devices?
"We didn't include Mediascape/Timescape, Microsoft didn't let us."
"You now have to use Zune to sync your device, we couldn't do anything about it."
"We included a great camera, but there are no settings to change parameters."
"There is an 8GB memory card built-in, but you can't replace it."
"We couldn't include Sony Ericsson ringtones, Microsoft didn't let us."
"...but you do get a removable battery"

Well with camera settings it is no problem.
My LG has custom LG camera settings..
@badassmam
They were/are definitely planning it. They were hardware partners with Microsoft/WP7.
But Lollylost is right, they want customization.
But this way they loose a lot now.
