Stuck on O2 in the UK - any advice on getting out of this? Anybody managed to root their phone? Can't seem to find anybody that can give me an unlock code either...

They came back and said seeing I don't have the original SIM that was paired with the phone, it can't be unlocked! Anybody heard of that before?

The next shop said seeing there is a 'x' next to network in the service menu makes it impossible to unlock by code!

Pretty damn nightmare getting this one unlocked even though I still have my 5 chances left!

Ok finally got the phone unlocked - popped into a mobile store that did unlocking in Bristol - £25 later all sorted, took all of 2 minutes to do.

Wow. Great to hear you finally got your phone unlocked. Fortunately I never had to go through that because I purchased mine from timtechs factory unlocked so I was never forced to get a data plan
