Hi All,

I searched many forums, n tried every setting. but still i'm not able to access my gmail account from my phone.

Below are my current setting. Which ends up saying "Server Not Found".

# Incoming connection type:POP3
# Incoming server: pop.gmail.com
# Incoming username: myemailadress@gmail.com
# Incoming password: password
# Incoming Encryption : SSL
# Incoming Port: 995

# Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
# SMTP authentication: same as POP3
# Outgoing Encryption: SSL
# Outgoing port:587

I've enabled POP for all mails in gmail setting.
After this when I go to inbox >> checkmail, it displays "Server not found."

Please Help.
Thanks,
Shoaib.

My first suspicion is that you're trying to do this over a WAP connection and that normally gives this error

Hi, shoaibkhan28.... try this:

Incoming connection type:IMAP4
# Incoming server: imap.gmail.com
# Incoming username: myemailadress@gmail.com
# Incoming password: password
# Incoming Encryption : SSL
# Incoming Port: 993

# Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
# SMTP authentication: same as IMAP4
# Outgoing Encryption: SSL
# Outgoing port:465

Let us know how it went...

Good luck!

Can you surf the net from your phone?

Were you able to check mail before? With the same phone? A different phone?

***Just as a tip, use IMAP instead. POP has a tendency to be very glitchy over Gmail specially if you're syncing a lot of older emails (since you enabled check all mail) then just have your phone sync the last 25-50 messages and if you need offline capabilities, just have it download the messages, not just the headsers)

https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

Try visiting this page, sometimes Gmail will lock your account from remote access if it detects uncommon login patterns (like logging in for the first time)

Enable both POP and IMAP access in your Gmail account as well... then try using IMAP instead.

# Incoming Encryption : SSL
# Incoming Port: 995

# Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
# SMTP authentication: Disabled
# Outgoing Encryption: SSL
# Outgoing port: 465

OR

IMAP4 settings:

# Incoming connection type:IMAP4
# Incoming server: imap.gmail.com
# Incoming username: myemailadress@gmail.com
# Incoming password: password
# Incoming Encryption : SSL
# Incoming Port: 993

# Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
# SMTP authentication: Same as IMAP4
# Outgoing Encryption: SSL
# Outgoing port: 465
