it's for security reasons... so noone else will be able to read your messages if he/she gets hold of your phone...

Not really; I'm glad it does that. My GF had some pretty sensitive information there (passwords and the like) and her phone got stolen at a mall (she found her SIM on the sidewalk outside the mall though, talk about luck).
In either case, I'm GLAD that the data in the SMS's will never be abused by that bastard. |

Why don't they have this "security feature" on P800?
And on T68, why only on sms, not on mail? |

Yeah! Thats very true. Also it isn't on the MMS.
And sure if it is a security feature what about the things stored in the calender, notes and the other places.
I feel it is a very pointless and very annoying, especialy when i use two different SIM cards.
Pisses me off

The traditional one, SMS works for your subscription, the SIM. SMS centre num is stored in SIM. The phone is a processor and and a temparory storage. SIM has area designed to store in&sent msg, depends on its memory. ... MMS works someway like email. Much more is handled by the phone. MMS centre is defined in phone. s. But the mms account should not be limited for a certdian sim. Msg can be saved in phone only. SIM has no area storing mms. Itīs th reason mms accessable by other sim. ... Email is ...

Email is totaly another story. It has nothing to do directly with your mobile subscription. The one restricted by SIM is data service. All mail accounts and data services are defined in phone. You can not say that one mail account belongs to a certain SIM. The built in mail client talks to mail server via the data account that your SIM supports for each mail account.
