Hi, as far as i know, you cannot install .sis files in Sony Ericsson dumb phones, since those files are not supported, because that extension is used in Symbian devices. IE: Nokia phones.
Please someone correct me if Im wrong.

There is no need to correct you
*jad and *jar files are what you want.

no there is not.... as far as i know...!!
the .sis file is usually a compiled C++ program for the symbian OS.... converting an application means that you need to first be able to decompile it... and as you may know ... this step is something near impossible... unless you're an expert hacker!!!
of course it works on satio because it has the symbian OS in it...
and sn0wman... asking questions leads to learning something new... so it does not considered silly...!

No converting a Symbian installation file into a Java app is not possible. They're completely different.
@ Bonovox - heh, i doubt again it was the .sis file unless it was a virus pretending to be a proper app. More likely the firmware on the 5230 was dodgy. Possibly operator branded ?

Converting - no, but porting would be possible, if you have the source code to the .sis program and have pretty good skills on both C++ and Java and lots of spare time...
