It’s been a long road for Sony Ericsson in the last few years, but you couldn’t tell at the official introduction of their new Americas HQ in Atlanta yesterday. SE held an exclusive event with Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, Sony Ericsson worldwide CEO Bert Nordberg, Sony Ericsson USA President Anderson Teixeira, and others for a ribbon cutting ceremony introducing the new location. While SE has faced numerous layoffs in recent times, loss in profits and so forth, their improved strategy and current portfolio signal a company that is on a turnaround. SE is becoming a robust, reformed company that is playing a pretty great hand this generation and has some killer prospects for the future.

Yes that logo looks great with the Sony Ericsson words. So does this mean may become more prominent in America?

Come on guys. Focus on the article.
Something I didn't like is the reply that Texeira gave:
Teixeira stressed that having the latest vanilla firmware wasn’t priority in Sony Ericsson’s strategy, but rather having rich user experiences.
A rich user experience is part of having an updated OS which brings also a richer experience than older versions. I wonder if they are using Windows XP in those PC's shown at the first post.

Most companies still do use XP in offices

You know what I mean, Bonovox. Ok, let me make it this way: are they using Windows 98 in those PC's?

That was the first thing I saw too!
Where's all the wall and table screens with 3-D touch interface from the Bond movies?

Setting up a new corporate headquarters with a 9yr old OS that Chinese hackers ripped through embarressing Google? An OS that has had at least two major security update failures this year - from Microsoft and McAfee?
If I were setting that office up, I would expect Windows 7. You can run it in Virtual XP mode if necessary for compatibility reasons but their main enterprise software must be available in a W7 version by now.

I'm sure he was just accentuating the positive aspects of the Xperia range. SE must know that the buzz around Android is all bout the latest updates and how that compares to the iPhone feature set.

All the glizz does nothing if the customer service does not improve. At least we have now a table where we can slam our fist against here in the US. Not having an upgrade to frozen yoghurt on the X10 is a pretty poor marketing strategy.

I'm still struggling to get over the fact that they turned down the opportunity of closer ties to Google through manufacturing the Nexus One hardware. Surely the best Android marketing strategy is to be Google's chosen favourite? Now everyone see's HTC as the default Android manufacturer. I hope this shortsightedness is changing.

Hey but remember beauty won't last forever. Rachael is the woman and Android is the beauty. Both need to get along all the time to look "pretty".
