Introducing the first handset to support the TD-SCDMA network – the Sony Ericsson A8i
The Sony Ericsson A8i was developed in collaboration with China Mobile specifically for the Chinese market and runs on the operator’s OMS 2.0 smart phone platform
Beijing, China – August 31 2010 – Sony Ericsson today announces that it is strengthening its portfolio in China by launching the first smartphone to support China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network – the Sony Ericsson A8i.
The Sony Ericsson A8i delivers high performance in a stylish form factor. The phone features a 3.5-inch (9 cm) touch screen and incorporates the human curvature design concept that is now consistent across the Sony Ericsson portfolio.
The phone benefits comprehensive range of signature applications including TrackID which is linked directly with China Mobile’s entertainment download service – giving customers in China access to a wide range of local music.

It does have a number of features not native to the x10. Photo light, photo flash and led flash?

Well the OS is based on Android so the apps would make it a fully fledged smartphone in my eyes. I am liking the Xperia esque design though, especially white / silver.

Wow! They are totaly raping the X10 design agree with Bono,they could've changed the design a bit. This reminds me of the whole Nokia N81, N85, N96 etc...scenario.
