w810 takes better photos than w995? |

i've been seeing the gallery and i can say that w810 takes better photos.
i can see a kind of noise on w995's photos
What do you think? |

I think the K750i - W810i era had the best cameras. now there all crap!

ok, pic taken with a w995, zoom it and you will see too much noise, there is something weird in its photos
pic taken with a w810, nice pic and clear enough

still W995 produce more sharper image if you look at both in the same dimension
that's the point of bigger pixel of the camera capability imo...

Pixel peeping on such large examples will always show up digital artifacts and noise. The ca (chromatic abberation) is a weak point on the W995 and the trees in the background show this up. The problem is made worse by the larger mp count they cram onto these phones. 8mp is too much on a sensor this small so noise will increase. I do agree the W810 took great images for a 2mp camera, I have one and love it.
My one request for SE and others is too stop increaing mps and put better lenses on the cameras. This will improve the photographs dramatically. Unfortunately specifications sell and to the average consumer an 8mp camera sounds better than a 5mp, a 12mp sounds better than an 8mp and so on. People get suckered into this sale pitch all the time. Give me a cybershot at 5mp and a Carl Zeiss lens over an 8mp or 12mp evertime. |

jap, the trees in 1st picture is actualy out of focus so they cant be sharp! look at the yellow flouwer, i dont see any noise, i can only see noise on 2nd pic!

The two pics aren't comparable, the W995 photo is in focus, the other one isn't, bad focus can sometimes be seen as noise, I see strong noise reduction and purple fringing from W995, I wouldn't decide between buying two music-based phones purely because of the camera if that's what your considering

If you shrink the W995 pic to 2mp, you won't see the noise, and the pic will look even sharper. You'll know W995 is better for sure if you test them in low light. I've taken photos from both W995 and W800 (sporting the same cam as W810) and that's where W995 would win as its noise level is significantly less eventhough we know it doesn't actually have the best noise suppression among 8mp cams. Unfortunately I sold my W995 and won't be able to make comparison shots so this remains my personal opinion

There is nothing much wrong with the w995's flower it looks fine. The w810 pic is out of focus. Badly. And remember when you do macro's the background is never in focus it's the foreground that's why you see what you see This thread is flawed imo

Posting a similar thread on the SE-NSE forums for reference. Be warned that the term "chinese garbage" is used a lot (which I certainly don't agree with as far as the W995 is concerned), some people may find those posts very offensive.
Astonishing Comparison Between W800i Camera And W995 Camera
I've taken a macro shot of the same object in 2, 5 & 8 mpx with my W995 - will post those pics after lunch.

You can see why the reaction of the poster was very negative about the w995 camera, my w995 macro shots will follow this post. Unfortunately , I don't have access to a w800i so won't be able to show strict comparative photos as I did in the Elm vs w995 thread.
