Sold off my HTC Hero and onto something different and fresh. Is N900 a good option? Any major bugs etc?

Havent read much bad about it except typical smartphone batt life, not so great email and that fMMS aint so great either, id suggest checking Mobil-Review and Maemo.org though as what i said above was from one user.
Overall it looks like a great device especialy for web browsing and modding as it has a good mod community.

Its not been very popular not taken off as well as they hoped but its not a mainstream device. Thats probably why we have not heard much about it.

It's the Linux hacker's wet dream come true in a smartphone. If you're into Linux and developing your apps with complete freedom over what you can do with the phone, then this is your phone. If not, then forget it.
Note that it will not receive any official upgrades to the new MeeGo OS that Nokia and Intel are developing together. The N900 will stay with it's older Maemo 5. And the updates have already reached maintenance status so new functionality will not be added, only bug fixes.
