I've been told by two different people from 2 different cities here in India that SE authorized service centers are making people sign a release form which states that the service center is not responsible for anything damage to the phone resulting from their service. This includes breaking something that was working before the service to even bricking the phone while doing a firmware update.
This wasn't the case a couple of years back when I last had to go to a service center. I've been waiting patiently for the X10 to become usable (i.e. Android 2.1) before buying it and buying / recommending SE phones for the past few years so this is quite a shock

Is this a global policy change from SE in other countries too?

P.S. - I wanted to see if this policy is the same in other countries hence not posting in the regional forums.
