There will be some cool games on this device...
Seems like Nokia want to mess with Nintendo and their Gameboy penetrating the game arena. In an article I read on Digi.no recently, telecom analyst John Strand didn't think Nokia will succeed with this new model. Strand thinks Nokia will compete with themself. There is no doubt that games will be a big business on mobile phones, but developers will aim at the largest market, which is Java powered phones soon found in all phones from all manufactures. The awareness of N-gage will of course market mobile games and help Nokia in the long term. If Nokia want to succedd with the N-gage platform, they should do what does. Power all new phones with the same game engine (Mophun/N-gage).
According to Digi, the predicted sales of mobile games will increase from 500 mill EUR to 3 billion EUR in 2005.
