Haven't really been keeping abreast with SE releases and whatnot, so just asking here really: what is the latest SE camera phone? Is it still the Saito? Also, are there any upcoming released within the next couple of months?

Currently the ones with the best cameras are the Elm or Hazel or the X10. Also Vivaz is good for cam

The only question is... how long will these cover-less lenses keep giving pleasing results? I can imagine that over time, the lens will become covered with micro-scratches from all of the wiping...

Satio is still the best, not for its 12MP, but because of the Xenon-flash and the lens-cover, both of which a real camera-phone can't do without, imo.
Vivaz is better for videos, though.

Yes how could I forget the Satio. If it were not for Symbian I would have bought it

Although, C901 will be the last cyber-shot phone made

All of SE's high-end smartphones currently: Satio, Vivaz, Vivaz Pro, X2 and X10 take excellent pics.
My 1st coverless lense phone was a W900, had that for a year and a bit,not a single scratch on the lense, had my K850 since late 2008 and no scratch on the glass on top of the cover. I doubt my X10 will get any scratchs and even smudges on the lense as it sits flush to the back cove.

C905 the best by far. The strongest xenon flash (a T-series Cybershot cam flash), and great image quality. Even than satio. MPixels doesn't always mean better quality.

The walkman and cyber-shot range are finished now, think how many have been made and sold now, there is a huge range to choose from, now mobile phone companies are putting good cameras and good sound quality in the same phone and packing it with lots of features, are now focusing on Xperia
@Sky Hi
C905 is marketed as the best (they went as far as to lie about its MP count and write it on the camera), but C901 produces much more detail in it's photos, but C901 recieved no marketing at all from SE.
The latest SE camera-phone is still the satio, but phones like the X10 probably have equally good cameras if you forget about mega-pixels.

Yep, due to C905's high noise reduction. check this out.

oh, yes i remember that thread.
definitly some good information there.. but my problem with those comparison shots is that how many people are actually doing full size crops, and blowing up images by 26 percent for everyday use?
for the most part, you may print out a few 4x6 or 5x7 prints.. where you are never going to notice these small details.
also, there are some new buffer/compression settings that will be changed in withcking's next driver which are supposed to help improve detail.
for the most part people are not looking at these pictures through a microscope |

Yep, I agree. But I would still go for C901 I guess we shouldn't continue discussion here though, not to hijack the thread
