Best phone of 2002 was the SE T68i.
The best selling phone in Sweden in 2002 was the T65. |

Which do that sold the most during 2002, would probably be the same old phone that sold best 2001... and that is Nokia 3310. Don't ask me why people still buy this really old phone, but they do.... |

It sells because it's a Nokia and it's cheap. If you just want a phone, it's a safe buy and the majority of people who do not know or are not interested in phone technology find comfort in that.

Exactly!
Before i bought my t68i i had nokias and the only tihng i knew and thought is that nokia is the best brand with difference and its' menus were the simplest and best ones. But i was wrong.
Obviously most people just want a phone machine they dont care about what else it has on it. So they go to the reliable and trustable nokia, that they heard from their neighbours. Other brands are not so trustable yet as nokia.
and by the way I heard, and i suppose most of you heard, lots of stuff about which is the best mobile of 2002, but i am looking for a trustable source, not just gossip

Yeah but the fact is that the 3310 is really old and quite big. And it's almost just a 3210 with som design changes.
When the market is full of new cheap, small, nice looking phones with much more features, people still buy a big bulky old phone with crap battery times. If you compare it with the cheap phones on the market today it is just pure crap. |

@all: I do know that people who swear by their bricks (Nok*a) usually have never used an SE before, only want to show off and if they did use an Ericsson before, complain that the phone was bulky. However, two thing happen when I offer them to use my phone for a week. They either are willing to try and 75% like it, or gets very defensive about why I would do that and that they are used to the bricks' menu system. Idiots aren't they?

Those people who still buy the 3310's think that the most important features are sending and receiving ringtones and picture messages. Cavemen?

Well... at home Wap is kind of pointless... even if it has its advantages like being able to check what's on TV.
But the real use of wap is when you are not at home, and when you don't have access to a computer. It's great to be able to read news, check the weather ec, when traveling. And to be able to check the time table for a plane, train, bus or whatever. It sure has it's uses. |

but ok it's not so cheap now to just go and see the weather through wap, so i don't think common people will embrace it so easy... |
