Youtube videos here :

Official Cedar video

and somehow, as always, the Russians have a full video preview of the phone

Sony Ericsson Cedar first look

The phone designation is interesting, j108i, that &the form factor makes it a direct descendant of the Elm.

Its a lower spec'd Elm except for 3.5mm jack and micro USB port. At a guess this should be one of the budget sub £100 phones.

Pretty good guess, rrp in Germany is 89€ = 74 quid.

There's only a handful of 3g/HSPA phones at that price GSMArena 3G/HSPA phones at or under 100 Euros

Used the 2100Mhz band as the filter criteria for 3G/HSPA btw. Better video than the Naite or G502 though the Samsung phones beat the Cedar in that category by a wide margin. Battery life of the Cedar is superior though.

@norbi, I think you're in the minority with that opinion. I think it looks great. My Elm is gorgeous. These are both way better than the Naite, which was better again than all those phones with blister-inducing ridiculous tiny hard ugly buttons UGH!

I'll have to be the minority here and say the Cedar looks better than the Elm. Especially in red! If it had the features and specs of the Elm, I'd buy it to replace my brand new Elm, just because of the way it looks. I'm thinking about buying one for my daughter, but then I'll just envy her!

Get it for her:-) most low end phones are just plain ugly or feature starved, the cedar avoids both. And if this model follows the pattern of the t700, it will have a non-autofocus phone which still takes pretty decent pictures. Also this is probably the only ecofriendly phone in this price range. This planet needs all the help it can get.

Anyone know when Cedar is going to be available? The product announcement says Q3, but a dealer on Apliu Street told me Christmas.
