@Karun. Yeah, I tried out three of them: Floyo 0.9, CM7 0.2, CM7 0.3. Floyo 0.9 has bugs but is the most stable one, CM7 0.2 lacks wifi and CM7 0.3 crashes randomly. 3D, video decoding, camera and usb storage are not working yet.

I have been waiting for a stable ROM all this while, the 2.3 ones look promising but guess Racht has hit a roadblock now. Mixing legend and hero files is necessary to make a working ROM for X8. You managed to update to the new 2.1.1.0.6 firmware?
Apparently three more firmwares have been certified after that but unknown13x confirmed that they just include some minor menu changes, new apps nd bug fixes. Looks like SE is polishing it for one last time before support ceases permanently.

@Karun I am also waiting for a stable release of CM 2.2 or 2.3.
No, I haven't tried the latest official firmware, from the responses of those who have installed it, there is almost no visible changes in it. I am not counting on SE support for X8 any more, all hopes for XDA...

As how the black X8 was released a lot later than the white, does that mean all black ones will ship with android 2.1 installed?

Oh. But you bought yours a while back. I think the new stock would have Android 2.1 onboard.

CM is well known for having the best ROM out there for Android phones. I'm sure this would be the first ROM for the Xperia Android series.
