Right, I've got mine and not partcularly wowwed this time. Have connected it to itunes and gone through the hoops. It says is waiting to activate. okay but that can't be related to the camera? The camera is not loading, the app starts with the usual James Bond intro but that is it, the viewfinder doesn't load.

Do I need to wait for activation to use the camera or have I got a duff unit?

I don't really understand as normally the only thing you can do before activation is emergency calls

I've connected to itunes when it was showing the connect to itunes sign. Is there anything else to activation? I've connected it and it synced, thats all I did. then it went to the springboard and everything seems to work except the camera and the signal bar shows No service while the sim is in there.

When I turn the phone on and off I get the message saying it takes time to activate and will activate soon. This is as a popup message.

I've never once activated an iphone despite having one for many years

okay the waiting for activation is the transferring to the micro sim so thats fine. The camera looks like it faulty.

@scouser_75 planetbeing has said if its ready it will be released this sunday. if its not ready he wont release it. Looks like they are having issues with facetime and some other apps lol.

I have recieved an auto refund for the bumper i bought a few weeks ago today and just had confirmation for my free case being processed so double happiness lol. Seems like the third party cases are taking longer to arrive as mine hasnt been shipped yet.

A couple of days late i know, but did anyone else see this:

German Stiftung Warentest: iPhone 4 is the real signal loser

Maybe they should perform the same test on the phones Apple tested and see how they get on. It makes Apple's unprofessional look i can cup my Apple hand around a none-Apple phone and kill its signal too test kinda look a bit silly and umm, unprofessional ?

Moving on.. from Apple bashing, having never owned an iPhone of any sorts, let me get it straight, you have to have the phone activated prior to using ANY features other than emergency calls ? isnt that a little restrictive of Apple ?

@etaab yeh its activated via itunes. not a problem really as if u buy it from a store they activate it in store for you if you want and if u have it delivered to your home u just plug it in and activate.

Only issues where on day one when the servers got hammered and it took about 30 secs - 1 minute to actually do it.

Guys who are using an iPhone 4 on Tesco; When you get a voicemail do you get the red dot/notification symbol on the Phone icon?

I don't get the red dot but instead get a text message saying I have a voicemail!

Surely this can't be normal!?!?!?!?!

Did anyone read this weeks 5 page article in Micro Mart magazine ? it was pretty harsh on Apple labelling the iPhone 4 a PR disaster. Still very funny to read and some good points made, albeit in a negative way toward Apple again.

@ voda_jon - so what do people do who have no internet connection ? or do they activate the phone via iTunes on the iPhone ?

Isnt that a bit.. silly.

Like i said, what if someone orders the phone, it comes to their home address via post, yet they have no internet connection or home computer ? does that mean they're stuck with a brick until they can visit CPW ??
