In some country's it's forbidden to shoot silent. Privacy law. If your phone can't, try "pimp my phone" at davinci.

Hi Simonc, in the camera settings, find "Shutter sound", if there isnt an option to disable it, then going into silent mode (press and hold # sign in the standby screen) might be the only way.

Thanks for all the replies.I only have 4 options for my shutter sound all of which make a noise. Even on silent mode it still makes the focus and shutter sound its really anoying.

Sometimes there isn't an option 'off'
I agree with hihihans, AFAIk in some countries its illegal to take pictures without making noise as it breaks privacy rights.
There are lots of ways to get round it even though there might be no option to easily disable it

Replace the appropriate files via A2 Uploader either with silent ones or other sounds
Upload a customize_upgrade to your phone
Flashing to a different firmware which may give an "Off" option

Read this and the comments too:
Tutorial: How to turn off camera sound/focus sound

Replacing files via A2 is the easiest method

Sorry for the late reply, missed your query. The "Off" option is in the same place as the Shutter sound options, it's very probable you don't have it since it's hard to miss. In which case mriley's suggestions may work for you.
