Hi,

Wondering if anyone else has run into this. My T68i, upgraded to T68ie R5D??? was working fine for about a week and all of a sudden the earpiece on the phone stopped working. So now I can't hear anyone when placing or receiving calls. I would doubt that this would have anything to do with the firmware upgrade since it was working with no problems for about a week.

Has anyone else seen this before? How did you resolve it?

Thanks for any help you can provide me.

Cheers,
Mathew

Have you tried the earphone test?

What???

If you do -> x <- <- x <- x on the status screen it brings up the services menu, then go down to option 3 (service tests) then go down to 'earphone' and try pressing any key to see if a sound comes out of the earphone!

Ok, I went into the service menu and no sound comes out and the mic doesn't seem to work either. Thanks for the tip on the service menu!

The phone works with my Bluetooth headset and with the handsfree though.

Ok, I'm kind of lost now ... the phone has never been dropped or shocked in any way, so it would be strange if it was a physical problem.

Could the R5D firmware upgrade have caused this? I can try and upgrade it again, but the local guy wants $80 CDN to do this ... 8-O

What do you think?

do not go back with firmware. i think problem is somewhere else. go to utilise the guarantee. if no guarantee, just open the phone and fix the connection with earphone. but if not experienced, go to service and just let them repair it. do not worry, it can happen anytime on any device :-)
