Sticky macbook keys |

The keyboard on my macbook has been getting a feeling like the keys are sticky and its gradually getting worse, though if I repeat-press the keys they free up a bit but the next time I use the mac it feels the same again
is this a common or known problem on macs?
is there an easy solution?

this is very unlikely on new macbooks with the spaced out keys, but likely on the old silver macbook pro.
if you have a black macbook pro/macbook (the alu with black spaced out keys) theres something sticky under there, now i know nothing about removing keys on a macbook pro, but all i know is you need to find a help topic on removing macbook keys and clean the bottom.
if you have a old silver mbp then the keys get extremely sticky very easily. its because there very close together. if one key is sticky remove one key and clean it, if its an amount of keys you will have to get a replacement keyboard.

this is a white macbook, I recall it being a 2.16ghz process but actually, I still have little knowledge about macbook generations as I'm more a vaio guy and only got the mac (second hand) for iphone dev.
vaios always have a model number to distinguish them but I can't find anything that says what this model is specifically, so how do you tell one macbook generation from another?

um, thanks. but I'm still not much wiser.
mine is a core 2 duo so probably is early or late 2008, but where do I find the actual model number as described in these tables?
and what about this sticky keys issue?

since its the white macbook just refer to what i wrote about the black alu macbook pro's (they have the same keyboard) and to find out your model number click the apple logo on the top menu bar on your mac, then click about this mac, and click where it says Version 10.X.X and it should say the build.

Open 'System Profiler' for a copy/pasteable serial number and stick it here for your Mac's manufacture information.

you can also check the info about your mac by entering your serial on this website, but get it right because you can only do 3 serials a day.
