Now it has happened a few times on my X10. I can't dial or answer the phone. I receive the mess "com.android.phone has shut down." Force a stop. Then the sim-card is locked. Talked to the SE support and asked if I used a task killer, but the problem is with or without the killer. Have U notised anything?

the exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.. the only solution i found is to update the phone using SEUS or PC Companion and re flash it.

i stopped using a task killer ... no more problem. I haven't noticed any
performance drop off since I stopped using it either.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

i hope people are beginning to wake up to the fact that you don't need a task killer on android except for only very occasional circumstances (eg killing off a misbehaving app)

the reason why the sim card locks is because you have sim lock set up and the dialler process has been killed

Now I have run my X10 without Task Killer for a week and today I've had a crash again (com.android.phone).
It seems like incoming/outcoming calls from/to a specific number makes the phone crash. I don't know if the contact is corrupt or the phonebook database has bugs. I talked to the SE support and their advise was to delete the phonebook and put it up again, reinstall R1FB001 and in third place hand it in.

Anyone who can recommend a good backup program for the phone?

you can backup various parts of the system using apps such as astro (backsup installed apps) and sms backup and restore
