O2 is to update & refresh it's prepay deals from the 4th June 2010. The deals are now to come in line with O2's sim only plans whereby users get a number of minutes & unlimited data for a fixed amount per month that instead comes out of their credit. See more info @ www.mobilenewscwp.co.uk/News/[....]_updates_its_prepay_deals.html

What happens if you miss the anniversary date ???

Do you have to wait to get your free minutes/text/data ??? nothing on the T and C's on O2 site.

It appears a very good alternative to contract.

I think if you miss it you just end up with a new date when you next top up. I am on the £15 per month one now with 500mb data,100 mins,& unlimited texts which is plenty enough for me. And also I am finding I am hardly topping up at all now & still have "23 credit just sitting there which will probably come out for next months bundle.

My 18 month contract is coming up for renewal soon, I am paying £20 a month for 600 minutes 1000 texts and "Unlimited" (Yeah Right) internet.

So £20 a month for on their PAYG Simplicity is close enough when you add in the remaining £20 credit after free time is gone.

EDIT: Anyone know if you can switch over from existing O2 PAYG ???

If I am not mistaken you can't top up at a top up outlet only Credit/Debit card, which is no good for me as I have washed my hands of all banks.

EDIT: I stand corrected from end of June most Pay Points do vouchers

EDIT 2: "Free Mobile Internet:
You lucky giffgaff pioneers can even enjoy free UK mobile Internet up to the 1st of October 2010. After that date, mobile Internet will be charged at 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB)."

500 MB a month on 02 is about 16 MB a day.

On GiffGaff don't you have to introduce new members to the networks in order to gain free stuff? Correct me if i'm wrong but if that's the case forget it

it's not. £10 goodybag (50% off through July, currently £5) will get you 100mins, unltd txts, unltd data. You can introduce other members and help out the community, this will earn you either straight cash, or airtime, your choice - there is no obligation to do so.

Update on this it's a pain in the butt.

If you use the last of your credit to get some free minutes, say £10 for 100 minutes and unlimited texts (12000) every call you make you get a annoying "Free Call Low Credit" announcement before the call even connects.

This is going in the bin.
