Hi
Is there a way I can configure my Elm handset to use Wi-Fi only when using my browser on the 'phone? in others words to not use WAP or other mobile services for web connection when I do not have a WiFi connection.
Many thanks in advance |

Nope, u have to turn on the wifi first and connect with a fav network.. Then u can browse. If you dont want the phone to use operator services, delete all the data profiles.

Create a new mobile internet profile. Insert full stops '.' in all fields. This will make the phone always connect using Wireless Fidelity. |

Thanks, Lolly!!!
I couldn't figure out how to do this.
I had gone to my provider and they tried the "delete all profiles" trick and it still didn't work. But making the "." profile worked perfectly, and now I don't have to worry about those pesky data charges. I have a MiFi, so I don't want another data plan in addition to that. |

You dont need to make it default. If a WLAN connection is established, you can use internet in any application.

Hi. I have a SE Elm. Everything is fine, but i have some wifi problem. Sometimes works sometimes not (when succesfully connected) let it be a safe network (i know the pass) or an open network.
Once i can surf on the internet on an open network, once not (in different hotspots).
Is this a software problem or what? And can i rectify the problem somehow?
Thank you so much if somebody can help me

The Elm has a weaker Wifi reception compared to other SE phones (like the W995), try to at a Medium to High signal on your phone. In case the issue is at the application level (ie. it keeps trying to use 3G) try switching to flight mode & use an app you know for sure worked under Wifi - then try the other problematic app. good luck |
