In the menu of the Vivaz there is an option to Backup (organise files submenu) and there is an option to also Backup "settings". Does anyone know if such a Backup creates a full and complete copy of the whole phone? I.e. does it enable to revert back the phone to an exact state (settings, themes, etc)?

hi,

The backup that you make with the filemanager wil set back all you settings, theme, wifi point, logins for youtube etc.
You will however lose installed programs even the payed ones .

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer. May I please ask:

a) have you tried this, ie your reply is based on theory or practice too
b) I have installed all products in my microSD card, does this mean that I will have a full restore with all the programs being unaffected?

Thanks again

Hi Al,

1: Yes i tried this, i flashed my phone and everything was gone. then i restored the backup and all my accounts where back again (yahoo, picasa, youtube) my wifi router was in there again the aquarium i selected in the beginscreen etc.

2: i downloaded ultimate taskmanager from the playnow site and it was gone, had to download and install it again even thoug it was installed on the memorycard. from the other programs i had the .sisx install files and had to reinstall them on the memorycard, remember that it writes info to an invisible z: drive on your phone and makes entries to its registry.
So al those payd apps that download in the memory and get installed will be gone .

Hope this helps.
