whats new in a firmware upgrade? |

Hello. this is my first post here, as i just bought my first SE (weeey) last friday, and started reading up on the SE stuff here on this forum. I've allways been a nokia-fan, but when i was getting a new phone; nokia was just to expensive for my taste. i'm very satifised with my T300 
now heres my question..
I have a old firmware in my phone (from 2001!), and just talked to my SE dealer and he was glad to upgrade it to the newest, but he couldn't tell me what kind of stuff i get when i upgrade it... the phone works great (except the stupid memory-issue) but i want to know if i'm making a mistake upgrading it if it turns out that something is not gonna work after the upgrade..
.. please tell me more about the new firmware.. as i havn't found hardly any information about firmware for the T300. Thanks. |

there isn't actually not much difference in the newer firmwares for T300... (latest offical release is R1F, but it has been removed and replaced by R1D)... there are two T300 threads on Esato, one international and one swedish... check those threads for info on the firmware. |

i justed checked my firmware version, and found out that i have R1D011 ... and under that is a date from 2001.. hmmz. can't find the thread your talking about though.. :/ |

the date you mean is the version number for the LCD SW and not the phone firmware |

nope... most likely you will get R1D again since R1F was only out for two days before it was removed. |

okay. why did they remove the RF firmware?
.. and is there any way to actually delete those f**king predefined images? .. do the SE support people have the abbility to hack a firmware up (as in AT&T's case) that is "designed" (as in: no images, no templates, no nothing. just 1 meg memory) ??? |

don't know why it was removed.
do a search and you can find info on how to get rid of the preinstalled things. |

I read a couple of posts from people who got F flashed to a set, why was it pulled?
