I'm planning on purchasing a P800 soon. Just need some help and advice from the current users- I'm shifting from a T68i-Palm m515 combo. I will be selling both the phone and palm to buy the P800. How do I transfer all my contacts, calendar entries etc into the P800. My T68i does not have my calendar entries. I use the Palm desktop as my main source of info. w/ XTND connect for Palm. Can I still retain the Palm desktop or does the P800 come with its own contacts/calendar desktop? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanls

But, does the P800 come with its own desktop? Or can i still use my old Palm desktop/ or do I have to start using Outlook?

sorry to say but the P800 connects/syncs with MS Outlook only.
If you want, you can transfer your info to Outlook from your PalmDesktop. Then if you are successful, then just sync your new P800 with your PC, then all your contacts and calender files n etc. will be uploaded to your phone.

antski and mjct6210 is right. Sync your palm to your pc first. Then you can transfer to the P800. Thats what i did before with my iPAQ.

The only way to sync palm with Outlook (which you will need to do before you can sync your P800 with Outlook) is to use a third party sync s/ware.. like.. Intellisync Desktop, or Pocket Mirror or Desktop to Go... these s/wares allow you to map Palm desktop contact fields to Outlook Fields. (Remember, the P800 only link 7 outlook phone number fields: Home Phone 1 and 2, Business Phone 1 and 2, Home and Work Fax and Mobile, so keep this in mind when mapping palm to outlook). Once Plam data has successfully migrated to MS Outlook, the P800 desktop s/.ware works without any intervention.. Hope this helps.
