Elm is just an Upgraded Version of c901, every features that are missing in c901 have been added to Elm, refined and improved

well, everything that we need on a Mid-End phone, Elm has it, and the price is right too, we can really compare it on Cyber-shot phones but overall Elm has the upper hand almost in every features like;

>VGA Recording
>HD Voice
>GPS
>Wi-Fi
>Noise cancellation with dedicated microphone
>Splash Resistant
>Sense-Me
>Micro SD
>Excellent Audio Quality
>Large Internal Memory 280mb

I wish that they did this during the Era of Cyber-Shot phones, Solid Features at a Cheaper price

I agree, I have been thinking about getting the Elm because it has Wi-fi (I have a c901) just that I'm a little bit worried about the camera quality but I just read on gsmarena that cam quality is a good as c901

I agree. Elm and Hazel are indeed very good phones in this price range. People who disregard them because of the GreenHeart initiative or not being touch screen or similar miss the whole point, the features. They are very capable and bit more environmentally friendly.

People were belittling the T700 too before it came out, calling it a "vanilla phone" that wasn't worth buying. Turned out to be a real gem imho. It wasn't a smartphone but it did text&voice very well, had a pretty decent non-autofocus cam and turned out to be an excellent 3g/HSPA modem for my netbook. Nice to handle too, no sweat texting/calling with one hand.

My T700 is starting to show it's age after much heavy use & I"m considering getting the Elm as a replacement. It looks like the cam is decent (video is a big improvement over the T700) but does the WiFi&AGPS work well? How does it do with basic texting & calling?

I don't have the Elm, so perhaps I shouldn't reply, but I do like its keys; they seem to be very nice for texting. A difference to the T700 is that the Elm has only one composer for SMS and MMS. I think the T700 has the option to sort messages by category, I don't think Elm can do that. But instead it has the option to show as conversations, i.e. threaded view, which is very nice. As for calls, I don't know, but it seems like the audio quality is very good on the Elm.

Personally I liked the design of the T phones, T650 & T700 etc. however the keys sometimes seemed too small. (Speaking about the keypad, I looked at some demo C901 phones, but didn't like the keys among other things. In this regard the C901 felt "cheap" compared to the Elm, but perhaps the phones were worn, being demo.)

I'm also interested in reports about Wi-Fi and GPS on the Elm/Hazel.

You can sort messages into categories on the Elm.

Wifi works well for me, the only time I had a problem was at my parents house where I think the encryption is WPA2/AES, but on all the others I've tried it has connected easily.

GPS also works well. I can occasionally get a fix inside, but it can take a few minutes. In google maps it will tell you how accurately it's currently tracking your position. With a GPS lock I've seen it as low as about 3m, without it's around 1200m.

I'm just trying to see if I can get Orange Maps working on it. It's not officially supported, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

Using my old w995 headphones the sound is great. The supplied headphones are poor so yes it has great sound if you buy the headphones with adaptor to use any phones.

Confirming this one, dropped by the SE store at Glorietta Digital exchange last night - Elm is selling at php 11.7K (~ USD $262). Won't buy it at this outlet though, they sold me a dud C510 (edited) unit last year, terrible service.

I just came by there and see if there's anything new. Yes they're selling it at that price. If not, where will you buy then? Try Robinson's Galleria.
