Thought I'd mention something just to show how crap o2 are. I had one of these automated texts today from o2 now bare in mind I have a unlimited web bolt on on this o2 sim. It said that so far this month I have used 450mb of data and after 500mb I will be charged due to fair usage policy. This has been racked up from only downloading software updates for android applications on the X10 and for example Facebook updates in Timescape.

I noticed with T-mobile they give a 1GB fair usage policy on unlimited web and they wont even charge you anymore if you go over they'll limit you instead.

o2's mobile web is so crap and slow anyway, I'm thinking of getting rid.

I use to be with O2... (Moved as they are crap... especially there connection... To SLOW)

Since I have moved to Vodafone... They have been great the connection is fast and they are reliable...

I would suggest either T-Mobile or Voda personally...

They have both been good for me...

Theres only one reason I'm with o2 and its a cock up on their side ***cough cough free international calls cough*** but yeah mobile internet isn't even usable a lot of the time as its so slow. Their network cant handle its customers, their network needs upgrading.

I think I could be doing a lot better than o2. I'm looking at the best alternative that suits me, ok other networks have better mobile web but I'm looking at which is best unlimited texts and calls otherwise that isn't too bad when abroad. That network engineer I know had his t-mobile sim unrestricted by t-mobile so he has unlimited data when roaming (testing purposes) Would be nice if everyone could get that, the amount any network charges when roaming is extortionate.

bit confused about what this topic is testing/proving?

the performance specs of the X10 is specified as 7.2mbps HSDPA so isn't this topic simply comparing network performance rather than x10 performance and as such should be part of a generic topic for "network performance" across all phones?

however... its good to see that so far Optus Australia (who I started my digital phone experience with after moving from Telstra analogue when Optus first started) are top of the list so far (though since 3 years ago I'm back with Telstra)

btw, not sure why an aussie would be an angryman as we're all chilled and cool

Does anyone get an H instead of 3G or E as I have only ever seen 3G G and E in the status bar, yet my sons HTC gets an H where I get 3G and we are both on voda.

Volvoman, hsdpa? (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) its a part of the 3g net, here in sweden it's called "turbo-3g" used for portabel broadband. speeds up to 14,4 Mb/s

check the manual to be sure, i am just guessing
