Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Please any suggestions this phone has been reliable upto this piont

The fastport could be dirty. Brush the contact pins with a clean, dry toothbrush and do the same with the charger contact pins. This should fix your problem. Another possibility is the charger itself. Try using another charger if the 1st method didn't work. I highly doubt it's the battery

You've just experienced yet another typical A200 bug matey. Your problem will get worse to the point the phone wont charge the battery at all.
Give the phone a reflash with SEUS. Load it up WITHOUT you sim or memory card in. Let it load up until you get the screen asking you to insert the sim card. Turn the phone off and put your sim card in and turn the phone back on.

Turn the phone back off and charge it and see if it goes any higher.
Cant see it being a dirty Fastport cos the phone recognises the charger is plugged in.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

@Rookwise
Some dirty fastport cases do detect the charger. It's either that, or the charger itself or a fastport vulnerability on A2 phones. I've experienced all 3 conditions. If cleaning the fastport works then that's the right diagnosis for the problem

I actually did a reflash last week to refresh everything due to signal being a little low. That has helped but thankfully battery is ok now. I remember a problem I had with my old k800i whereby it would only charge to 98% but it was actually fixed by just charging with phone turned off. I have 28 day direct swap for same phone if faulty but so far no real other problems thanks heavens.

We're doing ok atm matey. Just been a little busy which is limiting my spare time. Another thing that could affect charging is if there is a slight crack in the soldier holding the fastports contacts to the phone's main board. I've expierienced charging problems on every fastport phone i've owned (which is about 97% of them). Even my Satio and UIQ phones had charging problems with the fastport. SE tech just said its a common problem which is usually software related but constant plugging in and out can cause stress on the soldier resulting in movement between the fastport contacts and the main board. Keeping the fastport clean can help but your phone detected the charger so it couldn't be dirt causing the problem. If it was dirt the phone wouldn't even detect the charger plugged in due no power going between the terminals.

Yeah I see your point. Just glad it works now. So far it's been the most reliable brand new on the market I have had & it's got a fab camera. When this happened I stressed but yeah I did kinda plug my phone in & out of data cable too much. I now got a card reader instead which are faster anyway. See my thread for the pics

Another wise thing to do when you plug your phone into the pc is to turn usb-charging off. That way your battery won't get a pulse every time.
