Hi there.
O would like to know how good is web navigation via a GPRS phone and a palmpilot with bluetooth.
I presently have a palm m505.
I am considering buying:
1. A new mobile phone with BPRS and bluetooth (maybe the S55)
2. The SD bluetooth card for palm.
I f I do can I navigate on the majority of websites how good is that going to be ?? Is waiting a few months for new technical advances a better option ? What are the near future developments expected ??
Thanks and Regards

Web surfing via GPRS is normal... I think you were afraid that all you could surf were the WAP sites? The sites you can surf over GPRS are dependent on 2 things... the browser on your machine (whether it be on your mobile, PDA or laptop), and your provider's GPRS gateway...some providers can restrict sites... others open up their gateways. Other than that... you can surf the web just like you would at home... sometimes, even faster than a 56K modem! |

Additional questions
Thanks for your reply.
1. How good is the "blazer ?" browser for palm ?
What I'm afraid of is that to look at a single web page you have to scroll left and right numberless times making it very time consuming and that each scroll will be counted as a different webpage as far as GPRS billing is concerned. Or can you visualize the whole webpage on a single screen ?
Do you think that if I buy a recent phone such as siemens s55 that will be ok or do you expect significant technological advances which would justify delaying the investment in new material for a few months??
Thanks and Regards

if you want an excellent palm web system, get Avant Go (one word or 2) from www.download.com it allows you to browse all sites (in colour) or if you want it can select special sites to sync with when you do a hotsync, and its free....it really is incredible, on a 2 hour train journey with my T-68i, grps and my crappy Palm V i viewed all the sites i wanted to with no problems |

I'd go for a Palm Tungsten T which has built in bluetooth. In the UK I can get hold of it for £270 GBPounds which is just over $$400 USDollars. |
