Hey guys,

I read alot about user of Samsung Omnia HD and Nokia N900 using the same cpu (Omap 3430) and they overclocked them to 1ghz without problems. i wonder if anyone know how to or where to download kernel file to flash our Satio ofcoz i know there's risk but im willing to take it

Cheers,
Drew

If i am not mistaken, didn`t Raafat manage to speed up the satio with his latest Vivaz MOD BUT.. drained the hell out of the battery.

Yes i read that part but files that Nokia and Samsung is more gentle and battery doesnt really effect. the only thing affect is when you load up a heavy 3D rendering. normally your phone will not use 100% of the cpu ( just like computer no computer use all cores at the same times unless heavy 3D render take place)
Hopefully Raffat come up with something else at the mean time ill try to ask who create files for N900 and see if he can able to come up with something for Satio

The N900 overclock method uses a Kernel hack to achieve the speed increase. Satio's can not be flashed so I think people should care more about being able to flash the phone rather than dreaming of things like this as they cannot happen without flashing the phone!

N900 is on Maemo OS, so any mod for N900 won't work on Satio. We would need a similar mod for Symbian S60v5 (5800 etc).

@Raafat - the mod might be possible without flashing (file are read from C before being read from Z). Since C has R/W access we could place a modded file from Z into C (as long as the overclock hack was filesystem based)

Many files are loaded before Rompatcher+ is, this means that c2z and c2z4bin does not apply to all files. Additionally the kernel is not stored in z:/

I'm not on about c2z etc.

for example we have the same two files on C and Z

C:\\private\\blablabla\\1.txt
Z:\\private\\blablabla\\1.txt

The one on C will be loaded before the one from Z.

i have found an application that reads the satio speed and i can tell you its not 600MHz but 789MHz as the application told me.

Download jbenchmark ace (google it)

JBenchmark is not acurate!

Anyways, why would you want to overclock it? Its not like Symbian^1 is even optimized for a OMAP 3430 so a slight increase in clock speed will not make much difference in terms of speed.
