been moving some videos onto my SATIO and it plays movies and tv shows just fine BUT it takes FOREVER using the MEDIA GO software from SE. i know that the software converts the movies but it takes a really really long time making it a real pain.

is there a seperate media player i can get? then i could just copy the original file over which takes normal times, like a minute or 2 not 30 or 45 minutes
is there another way to do this?

If you are absolutely sure that the phone i capable of playing the video clip without conversion, you don't need Media Go, simply connect the phone in data transfer mode and drag the file to the video folder using the file manager. I have tried this for many files, especially those you download from www.playnow-arena.com/movies/.

However, in the last two movies I downloaded from there, the audio was not synchronized with the video, there was about 0,5 seconds lag. Is there any setting in the video player that can compensate for this lag, or is that something Media Go does, if i use it instead?

ok cool.
have heard a lot about core player and will get it but which version????

gsmarena lists the SATIO as having: Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5

so will S60 3rd be ok to buy?
i'm guessing yes but just want to be sure.

and will i have to convert video files for core player?
is it easy to install on the phone?

thought this subject brought up somewhere.
Coreplayer is not for Satio or any S60v5 of those claiming it's work all fail. Gayannr..do you have proof that your coreplayer work on Satio?
I just leave the original as conversion take time and it actually increase in file size and using "Smartmovie" to play them or some other vdo player

how did u get yours to work?

and i also noticed that a typical 350MB file is actually 680MB after its converted which is just stupid. what is SE thinking?!?!?!?!?

Coreplayer doesn't work on Satio.

You can repackage avi files as mp4's using YAMB. It doesn't convert them, it just moves the video and audio streams from an avi container to an mp4 container. Takes about 2mins for a 900Mb movie. works a treat. However Satio won't play HD content. So as long as the original video is SD quality or lower it will work.
