I used to have one but now i am considering buying one again, Only thing that puts me off is the earpiece problem, It looks as if this problem still exists.

Are certain models manufactured after a certain date not prone to this fault?

If i buy one it will more than likely be a secondhand one off Ebay but if it becomes faulty i won't be able to get it repaired for free and i would have to pay and that's not something i would want to do.

The C905 is the most unreliable pos phone by SE ever.
If its not the earpiece something else will break.
I had the d-pad on mine fail 2X within 3 months.

it seems most of the C905 earpiece problems have been with the C905i version, and not the C905a for AT&T/Rogers North America.

I'm in the UK so would be buying a C905i.

I've got the chance to buy one off Ebay but it looks like it was manufactured in October 2008, Aren't ones from around that time a bit dodgy and likely to develop the earpiece problem?

My wife has an october 2008 C905. No earpiece problem but keypad twice. And her D-pad/ring is almost gone due to her nails.

I must be lucky that I have had no issues with my C905. (Quickly touches wood and crosses fingers!!)
