I tried searching but didn't find anything here.

I have an unbadged W995. All my contacts and sent and received texts were deleted by mistake. Is there any way to get them back ?

I've tried a forensic scan of the MS card and the phone memory to no avail. I'm guessing the texts are stored elsewhere but have been unable to find them. Is it fair to say that sms are no longer stored on the SIM card ?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi zener, and welcome to esato.

By default, sms are stored in the phone memory, to store them in the memory card, you must go to message settings and change the default to the memory card.

If the sms were deleted and were in the phone, AFAIK there is no way to recover them, sorry.

I hope other members stop by with a way to recover them, though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm on Vodafone unfortunately so the 02 method isn't an option for me.

Can anyone tell me where the messages are stored even ? I can't even find current messages anywhere ?!
Are they hidden on the phone somewhere ? I've set the SMS storage to Memory Card but still cannot see messages !

I use a Mac and an app called Hudini to reveal hidden files and folders, I've also used MAc Forensic Lab to scour the card but still nothing !!

Thanks again guys !!
