Sound very low on calls with Satio |

Just wonder if anyone else has noticed this? The volume of calls on my Satio seems very low, so much so that I have to press the phone right to my ear to hear anyone. Adjusting the volume doesn't seem to help. Is there any way to increase the volume on incoming calls, does anyone know?
Thx

PS I did drop it once, battery fell out. Could that have caused this do you think, and if so is it reparable? If not, can I use the insurance I bought to replace the unit? |

My call volume seems ok to me.
Before you attempt a repair go into the service menu and run a diagnostic on the earpiece.

Can you fix anything from that service menu. I presume you cannot.
My recording volume is very low and is applicable for videos as well. I think it is either something to do with the drivers or the hardware [if later then really sad] |

Um, sorry to be thick, but where's that service menu? What's it called? I don't see anything like it on my phone...
Thx

@ dipb.
I've noticed that too. The video volume is terribly low, also during a call the loud speaker isn't that loud yet when using the sat-nav it's pretty loud! |

If it is hardware problem then how 2 different apps can produce 2 different levels of output.
Also, it is mysterious where is Satio's microphone. But whatever it is, I still believe (and may be because I am too optimistic that this problem can be resolved by soft fix) it is not hardware issue and restricted somewhere like for speaker. |

OK thanks just did that test and although the speakers are shown at 50% volume, the same as the ear speaker, the latter is MUCH lower in volume than the former.
Is there any way to change this? All it does it shows me a test, but no way to alter the volume.
Thx

You can increase the loudness with the volume up/down keys. BUT..... this will only test the hardware and if you can hear something then your earpiece is fine. is it possible that the person on the other end has their volume low because this happened to me a while back with a friends phone. |

You can't use volume up to change the volume you hear from an incoming call, can you?
Also, it's not just one phone. Every call I've had, whether from landline or mobile, and every call I make, even to directory assistance, is low.

Also, just tried it (automated bank) and there's no way to gain access to the vol controls while on a call. They seem only to be accessible through the music/video section. Thought the zoom up/down buttons for the camera on the side of the phone may have doubled as volume buttons, as they did on my previous phone, the k800i, but no dice.
