Hi,

I was going to check satioworld after lunch today and:

Closed
SatioWorld is closed for the foreseable future. Due to very high costs of maintaining a site with nearly
6000 users, we have been asked to rehouse the site elsewhere by our hosting company.

Donations are not high enough to pay for a dedicated box so, for now, SatioWorld will remain closed.

This is not an easy decision, but we're at the mercy of our hosts at this time.

SatioWorld

What do you guys think?

It's a pity... I loved that forum.

I hope they can find a some good advertises... because relying on donations sucks.

Yeah, this is terrible news - I keep hoping they will relocate to another hosting company.

Satioworld was one of the greatest sites for us Satio users, especially since it became a connecting point for great modders like Raafat and others. One of the reasons why I'm not totally dissatisfied with my Satio is because of all the improvements that could be found on that site.

Shame... not that I used it.

It was bound to happen, but to be honest if these things up expecting not much interest in a premium product (that had usability issues and lack of direction) that has little backing to help with costs then you've learned something.

I've seen reference to another one bouncing around on Twitter...

The site was the true home of the Satio. It filled the gaps that SE were sluggish to fill. It stopped a lot of people taking their phones back for a refund. Se launched that phone in complete and without the right support to their loyal owners. A bit like buying a new car and the wheels not coming as standard, then leaving you to struggle to find somewhere to buy a compatible set before its of any use. Satioworld imo made that phone usable.
I see the Great Raafat has had a mention on GSMAreana. Big up the Raafat
