It may only be a minor increase in battery life (1000mAh to 1120mAh) but the Satio needs every ounce of extra juice as I'm sure you'll agree.

I bought a bst-40 on Amazon to replace the original bst-33. I read a few posts on here saying that it fits with a squeeze if you take the foil off etc etc......

But I have to say I've not modded the new battery or phone or battery cover at all, just chucked the bst-40 straight in and it fits fine.

I hate having any movement or creak in the battery cover of my phones, I like em rock solid. So when I first got the Satio I had to pack out the original bst-33 quite a bit to make the battery cover solid. This might be the reason why the new bst-40 fits just fine. Maybe the build tolerances of my particular phone mean I can fit the bst-40. Who knows?

I find build quality is amazing, despite being predominantly plastic, it feels great in the hand.

I reckon it's only about 1mm difference between the 33 and the 40 batteries. I'm thinking the 40 will fit in all Satio's, some may be a little tight. I think if you take the foil off the battery you'll have no problem.

Just for the record, my Satio is near perfect on the latest R1CA037 firmware. The camera and xenon are important to me as I've got a 2 year old daugter, the Satio camera is fantastic. I used to have an N82 which I thought was the best phone ever made but the Satio really has moved camera phone tech forward.

I've hacked the phone with helloOx2 which helps as I have every fantastic app ever made installed (mainly from Ovi Store, thanks Nokia).

Is there any better Symbian phone at the moment?

My phone never crashes or resets, I mean never and no-one could push their phone harder than I do.

I could do with kinetic scrolling in all menus, badly need a search function in the media app, loudspeaker needs to be louder for voice calls, equaliser in media player, autorotate it still a bit eager, RDS is missing, predictive text is the biggest issue with this phone, the T9 issues are well know, T9 on Satio is a joke. See my previous posts for the list of bugs I had with early firmware, most now cured.

Despite these problems the phone is sensational. I've had many phones. Shame the Satio has to be hacked to be so good. It can still be improved with new firmware, lets hope so.

In summary, treat yourself to a bst-40, Ģ12 on Amazon.

That's totally dependent on personal usage in the case of different users.

In simple terms, it's 12% more battery life so you can make your own assessment.

However long you get from your usage of your Satio with the 1000mAh bst-33, just multiply by 112% to see how long the bst-40 will last!

I understand that it is 12% extra. But what everyone is interested here is to understand how much extra power you are seeing on your regular usage. Say for example, BST-33 used to last 2 days and BSt-40 lasts 3 days .. like that kind of comparison.

Ok maybe someone can explain because i am no electrician. Wont this battery overload the satio and burn it out??

the standard battery is 1000mAh 3.6v and the replacement is 1800mAh 3.7v

i am tempted but i dont want to kill my satio quicker just for a few more hours of life. Please explain.

Wow! Are those chinese 1800mAh reliable and do they fit perfectly? If that capacity is true, that's almost the double of the standard Satios battery! And that should make a nice differente in its autonomy!

Difference is not enough to kill the phone, and the battery is so cheap that it can be discarded if itīs not good.

well, the capazity of a battery depends of its volume, what do you think about a 1800mAh battery in the same size of the originaly 1000mAh...?
