C510 Joystick? |

I'm looking at replacing my creaky old K800i with a C510, but wondered if the C510 has a kind of joystick or if it's a D-pad "clicky button" arrangement? It's hard to tell from the videos and written reviews. Is there anybody who has one, that can comment?
I play a lot of games on my mobile and I like the feel of the joystick, so I was really hoping I could upgrade to another SE phone with joystick, but I guess they're falling out of favour (especially since many people had problems with the K800 joystick). |

Wow, that was a quick response! Thanks!
Bad news though.
Looking at the pictures, it looked like the little silver button in the middle could have been a joystick-like "nub" (like on the PSP), but I guess that's not the case. My friend's trying to sell me his C702 and said it has a joystick, but it looks the same as the C510, so I think he may be mistaken...
So do SE make any phones with a joystick now?
Maybe I'm stuck with the K800i for eternity!! |

The W800i has a joystick
Personally i didn't like the k800i joystick at all, but if you do you might want this model, great music and great camera.

Hmm... I was thinking of something a little more up-to-date (the W800 is probably a bit too youthful for me too!)
I guess I'm going to have to wave goodbye to the joystick and embrace the D-pad.
Thanks for the quick replies. |

Are you still gonna go for the C510?

Hi guys,
Sorry I didn't respond - I wasn't being rude, I just exceeded my 3-post limit for new users! I'd have been more careful with my posts on Friday if I'd known I only had three of them!
Yes, I did buy a C510 at the weekend, but now I have a predicament. I got it on Orange PAYG, thinking "that's cheap and I'm bound to be able to unlock it easily", but now I see that people are complaining about battery drain issues after using Aerix, and I've also read that Orange have a rule about not unlocking PAYG phones until 3 months after first-use... I'll have to make another post about this I guess.
[edit - new post made here: C510 on Orange (UK) Unlock Code?]

Imagine how many phones went to landfill due to their faulty joystick design. |

Imagine how many happy owners had 2 years of trouble-free operation before having to upgrade to a phone without a joystick. |
