Hi and thanks for such a great and informative site! I recently bought a W760i branded to O2 (UK). The phone is unlocked but I want to unbrand it to a generic sony ericsson phone. Firstly I tried to update the firmware for my phone using Sony Ericsson's own updater software but all that came up was, 'generic flash device' and nothing much happened after 4 minutes I unplugged the usb cable. My question is this, what key(s) do I need to hold down when I plug in my USB cable in order for the updater to work. I have tried 'C' as per the tutorial but that just starts my phone in 'Mass Storage Mode' . I have also tried pressing the '5' key but that does exactly the same thing. My computer is running Win Xp SP3, and I have downloaded and installed the USB drivers on my computer in C://program/sony ericsson/usb_drivers. The same thing is happening when I try to run the davinci-team client to de-brand my phone. Nothing happens apart from the 'generic flash device' message. I ahve had two SE W760i's in the last week and both have done the same thing.
