Iphone question - Black or White |

Can anyone on the forum help with a qustion about which iphone rear cover scratches the worst?
The obvious answer I would have thought is Black, but I would like anyone who owns either for their opinion.
The rear covers look very good when new, but after a few weeks use, do they look tatty?
How tatty?
I'm not interested in fitting covers, just general use please.
Any help please.

I bought a silicon case for my black iPhone 3G 8GB when I bought it in October 2008 but got sick of the case and now I seldom use it. The iPhone is very hard wearing and puts up with a lot of knocks and abuse but you should still be careful with it and try not to put it down on a hard surface without something soft in between. The glass still has no scratches on it despite my clumsiness.
Some people claim the iPhone to be poor quality but the opposite is true. Is it by far the best build quality of any phone I have owned and looks/feels like a million bucks even after 16 months use.

Black is the worst because the scratches are much more easily seen. Itīs also much more of a fingerprint magnet
I have the white one now and i like it much better than my old black 3G

Yes your thoughts are similar to mine in that case, looks like a white one is the way to go. Well 2 actually!

Dirt can get into the scratches on the white case and make it look dirty |

I went for the white one. at first I didnt have a case for it. However I have got 1 or 2 little marks on the back so i decided to get a case. As long as you keep the phone away from any coins or keys and as carkitter said that if you put it on something soft on a hard surface your phone will be fine  .
I was going to go for the black one, but i thought too many people have it. I am loving my white iphone. So white would be the choice I think you should get in my opinion. |

I have managed to find one 16GB 3GS in white now, and looking for another.

I personally think the iphone should have more colour choice although i do prefer the white over black purely because finger prints are less visible
