Please I need help on how to make my Sony Ericsson K700i work on my pc. I bought a USB cable with this inscription on the pack "K300 USB Data Cable Connectivity Adapter Cable" which the seller said it can work for K700i phones. I read that the port that should be provided is DCU-11 but on inserting the cable the port was Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port. My OS is Windows XP SP2. What must I do to make my phone work on my pc because it's not responding at all?

does the OS sounds when you plug it in?

i dislike fastport por it's ability to die when you need it the most... after a hundred or 2 hundred connections, the ports begins to get loose... and that results in problems with charging and in pc connnection. i have had to change two times my fastport connectors and cables, jut to keep on using my k850.

even though is risky, try to clean the phone's contacts and also moist the tips of the fastport cable. most of the times, it will work.

If the fast port works for other stuff e.g. headphones and you've installed the drivers, my guess is that the data cable is faulty. It sounds as if you've bought a fake one from the discription, that it's not a genuine sony ericsson product.
