Also just heard it through the WM conference: Microsoft was asked how about customizing UI when SE wants to look like SE, and Microsoft wants to have the consistency.
The answer was not straight but he gave examples from the past, saying
that there will be "extensions" possible but not fundamental rebuilding of it allowed - that
is how I got it.
Assuming: probably some changes possible to differentiate let's say SE from HTC,
but restrictions will be present too.
And that is actually OK with me. Looks like WindowsPhone 7 will be pleasant to use.

is that means se will have some sort of rights to modify the winmo ui, apps, software etc on their phones...

Good move from MS. I am not sure about the BING hardware button though. It is taking it to far, if true. Exciting times ahead ! :)
