OMG the whole world is gonna come to a complete standstill and decend into chaos cos 2.1 has been delayed. Whatever are we gonna do ???
The world will never be the same again.
The camels will become the new power and run for government of every country and seize global domination.
Honistly between this and the other X... threads its all you read. Ok so its been delayed. Whoopdedoo. The world and its hamster are gonna boycott and bitch about SE till the next thing come along. Guess what will happen then ???
It'll be the same old bollocks griping and constant whining about it doesnt do this, that, wipe my arse etc.
You buy the fing product. You accept it as it is. Its not like the manufactures HAVE to issue constant updates. If and when they do release one then great. If they don't then whatever. Live with it. The x10 series is stable enough. If SE think the phones dont need the update they wont release one. If they think it does and want to get it right 1st time even though it may take a little longer then fine.
I can guarantee that once this update does finally come. There will still be people whinging and going on because is not Android v40.7658544678 or the like.

I clearly understand you point mate. But you cannot think that SE will keep the 1.6 forever. If they got in the Android game then they should play it.

I do understand that SE do need to give themselves a proper kick up the arse and sort themselves out. The thing i'm mostly reading is basically whinging. When the x10 series finally hit the shops there were already other phones already running android v2.xxx so why didnt the whingers go and buy one of those if they wanted 2.xxx right away. We knew already that 2.xxx would eventually be released and we already know SE's reputation over the years when they announce something so why whinge ???
Its basically all you read these days.
We used to have an official discussion thread and a seperate Firmware thread for each phone so that related issues, fixes, problems could be documented and commented on in the appropriate thread. Now each official discussion thread is just cramed full of whinging about firmware with hardly anything helpful regarding the phone itself.

dont know whats going on with my x10 mini but i woke up today and tried to turn phone on i had turned it off with a full battery... the phone did the little vibrate thing that it does to turn it on but after that nothing happened.. i tried to connect to charger to see what would happen and nothing happened at all,
so i thought well will have to reinstall the firmware then to try and get it running again..
connect to s.e update and was surprised there was new firmware for my phone
it has now gone from 1.0.A.1.36 to 1.2.A.1.174... it was like my phone new it had old firmware and wouldnt turn on lol
i even checked yesterday when phone was working for update and nothing... really strange!!!

@ben, the type of SIM has nothing to do with 3G support. The SIM only identifies you to the network and lets it know if you have subscribed to 3G services. Before my provider sent a free "upgrade" to the newer SIMs with more memory, I had an old SIM from 1999... long before GPRS even came into the picture (and long before my provider even printed their logo on it) and when I subscribed to 3G, I didn't have to change my SIM. If your SIM is about 2 years old or so, that's probably the 128K SIM already.
@theonedroid, which speakers are you looking for?

yeah but the new o2 sims have 3gp written on them at the end of the long code on them, mine doesnt it is probably about 5 years old or more.. as i have been to places where 3gp network is and never got 3g as my sim wont support it
as i did ask o2 and thats what they said that i would have to use a newer sim with the 3gp written on it..
but as o2 3g network is non exsistent round where i live i dont see the point..
slightly off topic now sorry.. |

i don't know if i'm in the right forum but i just wanna know what better alternative home/launcher apps you can suggest?
i've tried ADW and GDE but i'm looking for something with bigger icons like the default Home Screen.
i like ADW for the themes that are available and the customizable drawer apps (so you can hide apps from the apps drawer), on the other hand, i like GDE for the animations but it doesn't have enough customization like ADW.
Maybe you guys have tried others?
Thanks for the response! |
