If it was by misstake I hope they do not remove it in next update. I kill them if they do.

What about the battery charge indicator on the 2.1 lock screen, does it display only when charging or all the time while the phone is locked?

Besides when charging, the battery percentage is displayed also when it's below 20%.

BTW, the phonebook now supports import/export of .vcf (vCard) files
Also, a vCard file can be imported directly to the Gmail account.

@Phoner,

I was mistaken. its not there all the time when not charging - only when the battery is low (someone mentioned when battery is less than 20%).

It was when I charged mine later that I noticed that the indicator was gone.

@all: Continous video auto-focus in Mini? Will go test my Mini Pro right away!

@OluYom Please test it and report about the results
Can this camera "feature" be switched on/off?

@Phoner,

I have tested video recording and indeed continous AF is there. I don't know how it is on other devices e.g. X10 and Nokia N8, but here you notice the brief pauses as the camera re-focuses. It gives the impression of the recording being jerky.

I searched but haven't found a means of disabling it anywhere.

Its pretty much same or similar on other devices from what I have seen. After all, it takes some time for the autofocus to lock on a new target.

Is anyone running 2.1 still running Barnacle? Is this still the better tethering option available? Does it now stay active even when the screen goes off?

@jplacson: There is no built-in tethering functionality. Barnacle 0.5.2 works good and stays connected when the screen goes off.

RandomCarpet,

Barnacle requires rooting; doesn't it? How did you root your phone? I need an easy way to root.

Thanks.

OluYum, if you're still on 1.6, you can use Universal Androot

I'm not sure if it works on the 2.1 X10 Family yet, but it does root other 2.1 and 2.2 devices

It's one click Root... and one-click Unroot.

I just succesfully rooted my x10mini (android 2.1) using SuperOneClick 1.4
SuperOneClick1.4
Itīs kind of tricky process, you have to switch off USB-debug mode and switch on again. Try to do it a few times

Ps. Universal Androot doesnīt work on 2.1, but works like a dream on 1.6 x10. I did try that.
