As the thread starter had said: it's only a rumor! And since it is a rumor he/she cannot pinpoint its source... hmmm...

According to swedish magazine Mobil (www.mobil.se) There is a problem with sound in P800. I will try to translate for you:

"The problem with bad sound in SE P800 will now be corrected. According to our source the problem had to do with system sound settings, because of that the menu is changed.
Before you could set volume for messages, startup sound, and button sound, but now they have gone back to the old "silent, tone or click"
Other functions like games and mp3 playback have separate volume settings and will not be affected by this upgrade.
The latest update fw is P800R1D
Any SE servicepoint can make the update in about 30 minutes."

That's strange cuz I have R1C and I can't set the volume for messages, startup and button sound... VOLUME on these three are unified. And my only choices are silent, click or tone. ???? What the hell is this magazine talking about? I'm guessing they're talking about the initial prototype batches or the ones that came with the Dev kit. Mine works fine... no problems with sound. I do wish that they wouldn't loop the mic volume into the earpiece during a call. It makes noisy environments difficult to hear in.

I`ve seen the p800 phone already and i`m not impressed with the quality of material SE used. When i held the phone, the casing looks like a very cheap plastic toy, i don't feel it will fit for people who demands professional look. I am more impressed with the T610 and T616 casing material.

@ Signal amm yes well but the t610 is a whole different kinda unit witch is targeted to diferent segment of the users maybe the p800 isent made with greatest plastic out there but its what it holds inside is that counts for us people that have purchased the unit !
