Unlocked Blackberry 9530 |

I just purchased an unlocked Blackberry 9530. I have t-mobile and had to downgrade the phone from the 5.0 that was installed on it to 4.7 O/S to get it to make/receive calls, so that seems to be working fine, but really would like to get it to work with the upgrade. The other problem I have come up against now is it will not let me send/receive picture messages. Under my t-mobile account I have unlimited sms & mms messaging. Any help is appreciated!

To send mms on a blackberry you need to have blackberry data service enabled on un your mobile account.

Thank your for the response. I am still confused however because I had a Blackberry Pearl 8100 and my mom still has hers (pearl 8100) and neither of us have data service, just straight phone with unlimited messaging (text and pic) and we send/receive pics all the time. Just since I got the unlocked phone have I had problems. I've had t-mobile svc for 3 yrs and always send pics....strange...any clarification? |

sounds like you have wiped the service books, if you can get the MMS service book in an .ipd file from another BB on the same network then restore it to your phone you will be able to send the MMS messages, you will also need to make sure you have the correct APN settings on the device.

I'm not really sure how it goes but my friend had the same problem and she was so annoyed because she like to be able to send/receive MMS all the time but her new phone doesn't allow her to and then someone told her that she has to buy internet/MMS settings and it should fix the problem. Is it true? |
