Free GPRS while subscribed to MMS? |

Just wondering, MMS works on GPRS...
So in order for users to activate their MMS, Network Providers must activate our GPRS.... So that means we configure our phones for WAP and we'll be able to WAP. AND, Network Providers cannot charge us for GPRS usage because we did not ask for it.
I'm on O2 and have been taking advantage of this situation for more than 6 months now.
e.g. i switched my galfriend's SIM with my T68i and called O2 to activate MMS... Now she does WAP for ABSOLUTELY FREE on her Nokia 6510!!!!!
Just a little tip for FREE GPRS.... does anyone out there want to correct me if I'm wrong here? |

Most of the O2 tariffs come with free or lots of wap minutes. It doesn't really matter if It's dialup or gprs It's only wap access.

this dosn't work, because there is something called routing.
they won't route your data to any host beside the mms server.

You are only using the GPRS for wap, if you try and use it for anything else it'll be a whole different story... |

Yes, but free wap is also beneficial. You can manage youq pop3 accounts (e.g. wap.webcab.de) or even using the mail client in your mobile or pda if you use accovnt of your mobile service provider.

• For the Online Talkalot tariff: Monday to Friday Daytime is 7:30am to 7:30pm. Weekend is midnight Friday to midnight Sunday. Monday to Friday Evenings is all other times.
• Based on a 24-hour cycle from midnight to midnight. At 00:00 every day your charge for standard calls and calls to other O2 mobiles will revert to 25p for the first three call minutes on that day. Calls initiated before 00:00, which continue beyond this time are charged at the previous day's rate.
• Once you have changed to Online Talkalot the calls counting towards the three minutes start from the time you actually change tariff, not from the beginning of the day that the request was made.
• All call charges are subject to change. All prices include VAT.
• Calls rates quoted by the minute, charged by the second and rounded up to the nearest penny.
• Minimum call charges for Data Calls (including Mobile Internet calls) 5p, weekday voice calls 5p and weekend voice calls 2p.
• Standard calls are defined as O2 mobile voice and data calls made in the UK to UK standard fixed-line numbers (normally starting with 01 or 02) other than premium, UK and International Directory Enquiries and value added services.
• Unused calltime credit carries forward and will not expire provided the calltime balance is topped up by £10 within 90 days of the date you last topped up.
• To receive your free text and WAP allowance you will need to top up by at least £10 once every month before your allowance start date. Your allowance start date is the date of the month after your first top up. If you fail to top up in the month before your allowance start date text and WAP will become chargeable. If this happens and you subsequently top up you may have to wait up to 48 hours for your free allowances to start again and your allowance start date will be adjusted to the date of the month after your subsequent top up. You must keep your airtime in credit in order to use your free text and WAP allowances.
• Free text, WAP or data call allowances are limited to the levels outlined in your chosen tariff and are valid for up to one month from your allowance start date. Unused text and WAP allowances cannot be carried forward into the next month.
• If you do not top up before your next allowance start date, on that day text and WAP will become chargeable. You will still be able to use any outstanding credit to make calls for up to 90 days after your last top up date but text and WAP calls will be charged at standard rates. Your service will be disconnected if you have not topped up for 90 days.
• If the service is disconnected you can only be reconnected by calling Customer Care.
• Calls to Customer Care on 0906 3024445 or short code 4445 are charged at 50p per minute. Maximum call duration is 20 minutes. Hours of operation are 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.

• On-line customer service & on-line billing: Internet charges may apply at your Internet service provider rates.
• Free text allowance includes standard rate person-person SMS only.
• Free WAP access only applies to WAP calls made via shortcode 915000 or 07712927927.
• Mobile use whilst abroad (including Channel Islands and Isle of Man) is not included in your free allowances and will be charged at the foreign network operators prevailing rates. (i.e Voice calls Text and Media Messaging and WAP or data call access)
• Text messages sent from the UK to non UK mobiles on foreign networks will not be included in your free allowances and will cost 20p per message, at all times to 110 countries worldwide
