last night while going to the movies, I grabbed my phone and noticed it was just showing vertical lines of colors. the phone still functioned. Im pretty used to A200, that I could still navigate the phone, without seeing anything on the screen. I thought the phone was just bugging out at first, so I thought it was just my phone bugging out. I took out the battery and restarted it. unfortunately, the problem was permanently, and I was convinced it was a broken screen (although there were no cracks. I just left my phone sitting on a table overnight screen facing down. when I looked at it the next day, I noticed a small droplet of water on the inside of the glass. the drop is pretty tiny.

I was wondering if anyone else had problem with moisture in their k800, specifically with the screen. Im not sure if I need a new screen or a new phone. Im afraid that the moisture just got into the lcd connector to the main board and now its all screwed up. im hoping the moisture may have just screwed with the lcd, so i can just replace it.

as far as replacing goes, im stumped. where is my candybar c905, or why the heck doesn't the c901 have wifi. id love a fairly modern phone w/ a good camera/xenon flash/ and wifi. im pretty iffy as far as touch screens go. sholes tablet/motoroi looks really interesting though. should I hold out for MWC before I consider replacing?

I'm pretty sure its just the LCD, if the phone itself works, but you can't see the screen - then its probably the LCD. Dissemble it just in case and clean the parts with a damp cloth, if it still does not work, then its the LCD.
Age is just a number.. Being 13 makes me no dumber than a wise old man

So let me get this straight, you had lines down the screen and then you left it, overnight a droplet had appeared? And now your phone is even more screwed up?

For the LCD, my bet is it's your screen (obviously ) but maybe open it up and check the connections to see how they are. Then if they're good I suppose it's time for a new screen...

Or you could just upgrade...There aren't any Sony Ericssons that are in candybar form, have a decent camera, decent flash, WiFi and aren't touch screen at the moment. So I don't know, either pick which feature you don't need the most, or go for a different brand.

The K800i isn't an A200 platform btw
