I just got my hands on shelly's S600 proto that was given away a month back in a raffle draw on here.
Anyhow, I popped my SIM in it and it immediately displayed an "inactive SIM" error. I even popped in a couple of SIM cards from other providers without any luck. It detects all the networks in the area via a manual search and even displays full signal strength but doesn't really register itself on any network.
A guy at a local mobile repair center says that the IMEI number of the phone isn't genuine or something of that sort (it begins with 00 when it should actually start with 35 or something).
The phone's SIM-free.
Does anyone know how to proceed ahead from here? Can I change the IMEI? Obviously, the service center down the road isn't going to accept this phone so what are my options?
Thanks.
